Diigo convert?

Last month in a class I taught we had a big friendly discussion whether Diigo or Delicious were the best social bookmarking engine. I've been taking a fresh look at diigo (member since 2008 according to the site!) and it has some fine attributes. I remember about the message and group component, but had forgotten about the highlighter. You can highlight parts of a page and then if you like- it will save them in "my library" on your diigo page. Perhaps a good supplementer for… Continue

Excellent Pathfinder help...a PODCAST!

Wow- isn't life interesting? We have just posted our midterm choice assignments for 5110 OL and one of the choices is to team plan a lesson with a teacher. Part of that piece is to Create a pathfinder or similar posting so that students have access to resource links for this class to access for research. (delicious, wiki or another site) Buffy Hamilton just was interviewed about her use of pathfinders on TOPICS IN Learning Design and Technology on Talkshoe (a podcasting…

As part of our class assignment we are working in Delicious. I need to figure out a way to caution our students to be frugal with tags. I made the mistake early in my Delicious career and put tons of tags on each bookmark. Looking back I wonder if it might have made more sense to post more in the notes section. hmmmm

Hi Phil,

I did drop the class because at least for now I am only seeking the endorsement. When I log on to SMART 5110 CS is no longer listed on my schedule for this summer. Pardon me if I am leaving this message in the wrong place; I am still just learning about ning. I did email you about dropping last week, but I bet I sent it into the ozone somewhere.
Thank you so much for checking and I hope to meet you someday.

Christy and I am working hard to incorporate relevent Web tools that will support these librarians with instruction and staff development. "Relevent" seems to be the kep component to engagement at all levels. The students have loved creating voicethreads for their booktalks. Some have posted on the ning and some are on Voicethread using our course number.

So I accidentally posted my first chapter response (Chapter 2) in the regular 5110 forum. Should I be posting in the Colorado Springs forum instead? I'll post my other two responses there just in case.

Thanks for the welcome, Phil! I'm excited to learn from everyone here. This Ning is a great resource! I'm glad I discovered it...
