I did my midterm choice project in wikispaces and had a terrible time keeping the formatting, being consistent with font sizes, etc. I liked that I could add some color and design elements to wikispaces. If you look at my midterm project, you will see that my fonts sizes are wacky and there are even ****that appeared around the links to the book pages.
Are there other places to build a wiki that you love?
Is pbworks easier to work with?
Can I add text boxes or cut and paste from word?
I will experiment more when I have time but would appreciate your comments or suggestions.
I also worked with pbwiki for my midterm project, and also had a hard time with the font sizes. I was never sure exactly what was "normal" somehow the percentage that was given to change the font size seemed to be based on an unknown variable. It took me a very long time to get everything the way I wanted it to look, longer than I feel it should have. Sorry, I don't have any answers to these problems- but I do understand where you're coming from! I have also been wondering if other wiki sites are superior, of if they offer just about the same services. Good questions!
Thank you, Sandra. It made me feel better that it wasn't just me! I would love to take my midterm and try it on other sites if I can find out about some other than pbworks and wikispaces.
