Dear friends,

Just wondering out load if any of you are interested in keeping this course "open" even after all our work is due so we have more time to explore all the links, readings, etc. I feel the need to go back and absorb all this information over a longer time since I am learning faster than I am understanding. I'm not sure if it's possible to keep it open, but I thought I'd get a pulse from my 5110 community first.

Yes! I was thinking the same thing. We're learning about so much great technology with so many resources that I fear it will all disappear once I don't have access to the class site anymore. I was actually going to go in and copy all the links to keep for future use. Is it possible to keep the course open?
I was hoping that it was a possibility as well. I already reference the past weeks' activities and links regularly and know I will want to in the future. If we can't keep it open, I thought that I might copy and paste out of the class shell and make my own reference documents. Or, we could transfer the stuff to the wiki? I guess that this is one of the down sides to an online class; even though there is a text, there's no way I can click on the links and make them work :) The movies and the links are so helpful and I, like you, need time to absorb. Also, being that it is the summer, my need to use the technology is pretty minimal, but I know when the fall hits, I will need to re-educate myself!
Absolutely! Great minds think alike. I tried to bookmark as much as possible to delicious, but I know I missed some great sites. Since I'm taking 10 credits this summer and this class is so labor intensive, I don't have the leisure to slowly cruise through the shell and make sure I got every bookmark. Once this class is completed, I'll suddenly have about 25 more hours in my week to work on extra projects like this. Can I add that though this is my most difficult class, it is also my favorite? My brain is so happy to have all of these fun new toys to play with. I'll need to go back and play with all of the technology/web 2.0 options that I didn't pursue in my assignments.
I tried to do this during the TIE conference and couldn't keep up with bookmarking all of the cool sites that we learned about.
Wow taking 10 credits is brave! I hope you're getting close to finishing them all!
That would be amazing if it can happen! I do not understand the logisitics of it all but I would use it for sure!
I too would like the shell to stay open a bit longer after this course if finished. I know we are all frantically working on our projects, etc. and it would be great to be able to refer back to some of these things and discussions after the class is finished and before school starts. If all else fails we do have this site and the Wiki...
I am up for that Mary, but wondering if it is possible? Otherwise, we do have the class wiki that will stay up, right?
I would love to keep this shell open, also! I, too, just began to wonder if I should bookmark everything and copy links. It seems like it would be too time consuming, but if anyone has any ideas, please let me know. How long would we be able to keep this course "open" does anyone know? Would it include the wiki page as well?
Yes Please! you read my mind! I was just trying to think of a way to keep track of all the great web sites and tools we've learned about! I've already found myself searching through our class activities trying to find sites that were mentioned during our readings. I haven't had enough time to really delve into the sites and use all the tools available, so yes- if there's some way we could have access to the shell. I was thinking it'd be helpful to keep it open even into the school year once we could really apply these tools.
Oh, that would be such a big help! This class has moved so quickly and I just cannot process all of what we have learned so quickly. I have tried to add many links to my Delicious account but know that I do not have everything that I will use.
Will the class wiki stay up? I would love miore time to look at the projects and how they were made.
